Childminder Qualifications and Training

What Qualifications and Training Does a Childminder Have?

Childminders in Larne follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The EYFS provides a learning and care structure for children from birth to five years old.

This ensures they are trained to create a safe and stimulating environment for your child to thrive in and enjoy their time in the Childminders environment. Activities suitable for age should also be provided.

All Childminders in Larne and the rest of Northern Ireland, are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau, along with all adult members of their family who share their home. Completion of first aid training is a requirement, as is a course that covers topics such as child nutrition, food hygiene, and health & safety.
